LGH gets the green light with successful EFA bids25.10.2012
LGH build on success for our Academy clients in ACMF bid round this year, funding has been secured for Ely College’s £2.5m bid for a new science centre, the Knights Templar School successful bid for a new classroom block and the Gateway Academy (see image) obtained funding to add a further storey to their new Primary Freeschool.
The Central Bedfordshire UTC Phase 1 complete25.10.2012
The new CBUTC Phase 1 refurbishment opened its doors to students for the new term with the remaining Phase 2 refurb now also open and Phase 3 new build (see image) to follow with overall completion due for September 2013. The major specialism of the UTC will be engineering with product design as the subsidiary specialism.
The All Saints Academy is now open!25.10.2012
LGH’s exciting ‘hub’ concept design for the new Academy building also opened its doors for the new term. The building plan is generated from a central hub entrance area (see image) with spoked teaching wings radiating from it. The resultant plan form is very easily navigated, facilitates ease of supervision, whilst incorporating dramatic double height spaces and visually interconnecting floors.
The Hampton College opens its first Phase 2 building25.10.2012
Partial possession of one of the new build elements of Hampton College’s £8m Phase 2 project was opened for the new term. Completion of the new 2 storey science & teaching block and the new gymnasium / fitness suite is scheduled for later in the year. The second phase represents completion of the school concept plans originally designed by LGH with Phase 1 completed in 2004.
All Saint’s Academy, Dunstable04.10.2012
Opened by Dr Rowan Williams Archbishop of Canterbury. LGH’s exciting new design for the new academy comes to fruition on site with National Framework Contractor Willmott Dixon won through a design competition to provide a much needed replacement school for the Dunstable neighbourhood.

This project represents LGH’s first approved ACMF project using SIP’s Construction to meet the stringent programme and budgetary constraints imposed under the ACMF initiative.
Soham’s Performing Arts Centre nears completion02.03.2011
This state-of-the-art 1100sqm performing arts building constructed using SIPS (Structural Insulated Panel System) is due to be completed shortly. This pre-fabricated, flat-packed method of construction offers many benefits including excellent value for money for a school building of such high quality, and sustainability benefits such as the air tightness result of 1.8m3/h.m2.
